Victims can't save victims
There are some fundamental truths that are self-evident. They include these old, but timeless, sayings...
* The sick can't heal the sick.
* The blind can't lead the blind.
* The poor can't enrich the poor.
* The weak can't strengthen the weak.
* The helpless can't help the helpless.
* The hopeless can't inspire the hopeless.
* The ignorant can't enlighten the ignorant.
People who are still victims of counterfeit "MLM" or "network marketing" outfits are not the most reliable source of help and advice. You can only help people from a position of strength.
The old saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is true enough, but only when you're fully recovered. If you're still locked into pain and suffering, recrimination and blame-fixing, you're still a victim. You may be surviving, for the time being, but infection or despair can easily set in and finish you off in your still-weakened state.
A group of shipwreck survivors who band together to help each other stay afloat will eventually succeed only in dragging each other under to drown if someone in a position of strength doesn't come along to rescue them in time.
Survival is only ever temporary. You either recover and triumph over your situation or experiences, or they'll eventually sink you without a trace.
People often quote the parable of the Lost Sheep from the New Testament to justify their valiant efforts. They miss the second point of that incisive story. The first point is the value of a single soul. The shepherd leaves the 90 and 9 safely in their fold while he goes in search of the one lost sheep.
The second point - the one most people overlook - is that it was the SHEPHERD who went to find it... NOT the other sheep!
Help can only be provided by those in a position of strength. The other sheep were incapable of helping in any real, lasting way. Yes, they can share sympathy and empathy, help relieve pain and suffering. But they can't fix the problem. So they settle for fixing the blame. Comforting, maybe... but not truly productive.
A wound can't heal if you continually tear it open. When cat or dog has a shield placed around its neck to prevent it tearing at a wound, that shield was placed there by someone in a position of strength, who knew what was needed to heal that wound properly. It was NOT put there by another cat or dog - count on it!
When seeking help, always look to a position of strength. Genuine strength, too... not just the illusion of strength!
Another parable comes to mind here... "by their FRUITS ye shall know them." (Not by their leaves or blossoms.)
"MLM" is NOT the real problem!
As we've already seen, most "MLM/network marketing" companies and distributor networks are NOT the real deal. Nor are the counterfeit "refuges" that are so vehemently anti-"MLM".
But not even these counterfeits are the REAL problem. They're a danger, yes, but they're symptoms of the same selfishness that gives rise to ANY scam or deceptive practice in life. The REAL problem for each of us is our own ignorance.
The truth is, it's not what you don't know that will sink you... it's what you DON'T KNOW you don't know that the real danger. In other words, unconscious ignorance. We don;t realise how ignorant we are in these matters, so we become easy targets for the unscrupulous.
ANY field where there's money to be made draws them out of the woodwork... used cars, white goods, real estate, insurance, electrical goods and computers are just a few of the areas where we EXPECT to run into sleazy operators.
Does that make these industries or professions illegal or illegitimate?
Of course not. It's an absurd idea. No thinking person would even suggest that this was the case. All these charlatans prove about these industries and professions is that there's a lot of money to be made in them - especially by cunning liars, thieves and scam artists, as long as there are people who are ignorant, lazy, greedy, selfish or gullible enough to deal with them, and they can stay one jump ahead of the authorities.
MLM/network marketing is no different. All the accusations in the world that it's a flawed business model won't make it one, no matter how passionately you WANT that claim to be true. And the assumption that "we've never seen a good MLMs yet, so there can't be any" is nothing more than intellectual arrogance - the delusional combination of ignorance with conceit.
Education is the key to changing the way we think, feel and act, and correct perspective is the key to knowledge.
Take the time to study these insights. They'll help you find a higher and more reliable, stable vantage point from which to view reality.
